On July 9, 2009, Our DLC 786 President Darlene Estey joined her fellow members of the SEIU Local 1000 executive board and authorized concerted actions, up to and including a general strike.
WE as members od DLC 786 have signed and presented the petitions. WE have sent the emails and made the phone calls. WE have taken our concerns to the state capitol and lifted our voices to express our concerns.
That time is past. ACTION is the new word.
Over the next two weeks the local will be conducting meeting to discuss the form this action will take. A full general strike is an option but not the only one.
But we must be ready to take that final option if the need arises.
In the mean time, Join with your fellow coworkers in planning CONCERTED actions. Individual or "Wildcat" action will make you vulnerable while joint actions make us strong! Attend Action Planning meetings. Contact your DLC leadership and stewards and find out what you can do to help. Wear Purple to show all your support of State Workers! GET ACTIVE AND TAKE ACTION!
